Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. He blends jazz from the soul genre with R&B in a distinct mixture. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine refers to Denise White. Though she lives in Atlanta her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania where she began her music career by singing as well as playing the piano at the church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship on the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single which featured her vocals Stalk You a House 12 was released only in Japan. It has been remixed many times, and it is a mainstay of her live show. Her voice has also been a part of voice to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She was then hired as the keyboardist principal for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007 was approached to become the director of choral for this stage show. Sunshine earned national fame during her four daily performances during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing in the Obama administration's 2008 inauguration.
